Information Technology division
The IT infrastructure continues to grow and be pivotal in the operations of the Department. Computers are used to run various software packages that are mission critical and store data generated. They are also used in the administration and dissemination of information through the departmental intranet and email. This division is mainly responsible for running the departments IT
network which included 320 pc's in 2002 and four large servers at HQ
holding a number of large water resources databases.
This division
also provides general IT support to all the 19 DWA offices scattered
countrywide and to the billing system used in the 17 major villages
for billing water consumers.
