Values

The values emphasise the philosophy that DWA will adopt with regard to the behaviour and conduct of its staff in pursuit of its vision and mission. They also represent the minimum standards of behaviour that all DWA staff has pledged to live by, as well as benchmarks that the department 's stakeholders can use to judge it. These values which are also shared with the other sister departments in MMEWR are outlined below:

A motivated workforce is the key to the successful delivery of our service. DWA will therefore develop, support, reward, motivate, and recognise performance of its staff brings both their hearts and minds to work.

Result Orientation

DWA exists in order to serve and satisfy its customer, to whom we are committed to provide efficient, timely and good quality service.We are highly committed to excellent delivery of services by continuously eliminating delays in processes within the department, and in it's interaction with stakeholders. In everything that we do, we will aim to do the right thing the right way first time.

Creativity Partnership with stakeholders
Timely and cost effective communication amongst all stakeholders for optimal delivery of services will be a priority. transparency openness, honesty and fairness will prevail for the smooth running of the department.

Stewardship of the Environment
The Department will protect, mitigate, preserve and conserve the environment in the pursuit of sustainable development by using innovative and appropriate technologies.

Public and Occupational health safety
The safety and health of our staff and other stakeholders is of paramount importance in the delivery of our services. DWA will therefore be responsive to the safety and health needs of its customers and stakeholders.
